Must-have Whimsical Decor

As soon as we spied the collection of magical woodland creatures and inspired nature tableaus from Little ‘m’ Inventions we were in love and couldn’t help see what a unique decor addition they’d be to events. Designer Marjorie Campbell uses felt, wool and various reclaimed materials to create the miniature-sized collections that resonate with everyone, young and old.

Campbell also uses her art to design breathtaking life-size installations such as a leafy birch forest arbor where tiny animals and insects frolic in hidden wait for discovery by the viewer. Along with handiwork for sale at Bluebird Handmade in the Annex and the Arts Market on Queen Street East, the artist is developing a rental inventory of pieces and is open to custom orders.

Opening Soon: Arcadian Court

Acadian Loft

Fans of the Arcadian Court in the Simpsons Tower don’t have much longer to wait for the circa-1920s landmark to reopen its doors on a major restoration headed up by exclusive service provider Oliver & Bonacini Events. The 8,000 sq. ft., two-storey space is set for an April unveiling of the renovations that will fuse the room’s original Art Deco refinement with modern-day styling.

First up, however, is the addition of the Arcadian Loft (web information coming soon), a new space on the 8th floor of the tower, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Old City Hall. Opening this month, the L-shaped room seats 380 and is divisible into five private spaces, each with built-in screens and projectors. Dramatic chandeliers add glamour to the airy loft-like interior with its exposed brick walls and ceiling. Perfect for meetings that roll into cocktail receptions.
