A Sensory Feast

Birroteca-at-EatalyToronto-Photo-credit-Gold-MediaAmong Eataly Toronto’s palace of pastas, cheeses, baked goods and other delicious Italian delights, is a smorgasbord of terrific options for events. Four group-hosting spaces are available throughout the 50,000-sq.-ft., three-floor market that opened last November in the Manulife Centre, including a cooking school and an in-house brewery. The bonus is planners can source a wide variety of awesome culinary goodies to put in guest gift bags.

La Scuola di Eataly, the cooking school where groups of up to 18 can learn to knead pasta dough, toss pizza and enjoy the end results. An open-kitchen with wood-burning ovens treats diners to the chef action in La Pizza e La Pasta Ristorante, which seats 157 and is available for buy-out. Trattoria Milano is a more intimate setting seating 30 in a dining room design-curated with vintage and contemporary Italian art and accents. Birroteca, a partnership with local craft brewery Indie Alehouse, resides on the lowest level, a micro-brewery, bottle shop and tasting bar with Italian-inspired brews on tap and a group capacity for up to 50.
