Holiday Is In The Details

Come November, each venue in
Woodbine Entertainment Group’s (WEG) stable transforms into a majestic wonderland of poinsettias and festive trimmings that furnish holiday get-togethers a welcome budget break in the décor department. Along with delicious seasonal menu options, WEG’s Holiday Packages are an easy way for event planners to generate festive fun, from the thrill of cheering on a live horse race against a winter setting to toasting the season over pints and a game of pool. WEG’s four unique venues offer a range of room options customizable to group size and event style.

Each venue’s holiday package includes added-value touches such as complimentary gift certificates at Woodbine Racetrack and Mohawk Racetrack that make excellent door prize incentives. Group events at Woodbine also receive a welcome in the race program and infield TV monitor. At Turf Lounge and WEGZ Stadium Bar, guests are thrilled to receive $10 betting voucher party favours for tempting Lady Luck on simulcast horse racing wagering. All four venues offer the enthusiastic and engaging services of a How To Bet Team to share the secrets of betting 101.

’Tis The Season For Giving

As part of its
Corporate Community Investment Program, Woodbine Entertainment Group employees are busy elves over the holidays, serving meals, and collecting and distributing gifts to several charities including Youth Without Shelter, Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter, and Halton Women’s Place. Staff, customers and event guests are also invited to donate an unwrapped gift to the Toy Mountain that grows at each WEG venue. Last year saw over $10,000 worth of toys donated to the Salvation Army for distribution to underprivileged families.

Host a great holiday party while also giving back to the community by providing guests with initial betting vouchers to use individually or as a fun table or team bet, with winnings donated to a charity of company choice. For more great give-back ideas, check out Woodbine’s Fundraisers page.

Foodalicious Dining

Michael Mortensen and Executive Chef Joseph Lech, Woodbine Entertainment Group’s award-winning food and beverage team consistently earns rave reviews for their food and culinary presentations. Laden buffet tables capture every season and event theme with an incredible variety of mouthwatering dishes made from local and sustainable ingredients.

“Buffet-style service is especially ideal for race-viewing events, letting guests pace their courses or graze between post times and visits to the betting kiosks,” notes Joseph Araujo, Director, Catering and Group Sales, Woodbine Entertainment Group. Tableside service is just as impressive, with beautifully plated inventive cuisine, from gala-style menus featuring items such as grilled tenderloin with blackberry preserve and confit potato to shared platters of grilled beef sliders and roast chicken wings for casual noshing. Each site offers group lunch and dinner packages with a variety of special menus that reflect the occasion. Customized menus also available.
