Who doesn’t like peameal bacon sandwiches? Ranked among the best in the city, When The Pig Came Home does Hogtown proud with its high-end turn on the Canadian classic. In-house cured and piled high on a ciabatta bun with cheese, egg and other add-on options, the sandwich is a tasty work of art. As is the other sandwiches, like porchetta and smoked meat, sold from this small but mighty delicatessen and butcher shop in the Junction. Good news is they cater!

Specializing in farm-to-table naturally raised meats, the shop’s three chef partners source directly from local farmers and cure, season, smoke or roast in-house. The catering menu prices meaty wares by the pound, offering everything from barbecue brisket, chicken and ribs to roast beef and smoked meat. There are fish and vegetarian choices, too, and a delicious assortment of sides. The team is happy to customize. How about a pig roast featuring a whole jerk suckling pig? Service is flexible: plated, family style, buffet, or pop-up station. Catering includes a tented mobile kitchen, complete with an assortment of BBQs and its own fire pit.
