Garrick Estick, otherwise known as Garrick The DJ, is a believer in “igniting the human spirit through music.” Radio producer turned DJ, Estick says the key to event music is not only having the ability to read audiences within the context of setting, theme and brand, but also having the creativity to take those cues and make them “infectious.” A mix-master artist, Estick’s eclectic library covers a diverse range of music genres and styles: Top 40, Motown, classic rock, pop, jazz and house. He notes one of his personal favourites, electro swing, which is a mash up of vintage swing and jazz with house, hip hop and electronic dance music, is growing in popularity with audiences of all ages.
In addition to curating playlists at special events, weddings and clubs, the London, ON native sets brands to music including gigging as in-store DJ for Roots, and fueling the fun of dance parties for festivals like Nuit Blanche and Pride Toronto.
