Switch up a classic tented event by hosting in a yurt, the traditional home of Mongolian nomads. Captivated by the idea of staging his upcoming nuptials in an authentic yurt, Paul Budwal launched Yurt My Wedding offering rentals of the unique temporary venues. The company’s light-filled, climate-controlled structures, made here in Ontario, are protected by weatherproof waxed-cotton canvas and can be erected on any hard or grassy surface. Inside, oiled wood ribbing gracefully curves skywards connecting to an overhead circular trellis for a lofty ceiling setting. Leave the skylight open or closed depending on the weather.
Yurt all kinds of events: Weddings, corporate events, dinner parties, retreats, pop-up shops, marketing activations and more. The firm currently rents one size, a 23 ft. x 33 ft. yurt accommodating up to 110 people. Smaller yurts are in production. The company also offers event-service packages including decoration, styling, lighting, audio-visual and bar services. Among the furniture rentals are handmade wooden trestle tables and chairs that beautifully complement a yurt’s rustic charm.
