Scaling The Heights Of Spectacle
Look up (way up) to take in the faeiries, snow angels and other mythical stilt-walking creatures of Green Fools Theatre. This not-for-profit charity and diverse artistic group out of Alberta has recently started to play to the Ontario market with its unique brand of puppetry, roving entertainment and workshops.
Special events and festivals can call on a cast of sixteen characters (check out the snow angels at this month's Winterlicious) and a variety of physical theatre including aerial dancing, juggling and mime. The troupe can also customize performances from scripting, to characters to costuming and props. Unique is the teambuilding workshops designed to break down barriers and optimize creativity with theatre game stations that teach stilt-walking, swinging trapeze, clowning and juggling.

Cue The Violinist
Who needs a dinnertime quartet when Grenville Pinto of Grenville Pinto Music is working the tables, serenading guests with the sweet sounds of his violin? Pinto, who took up the bow at the age of seven, is a dynamic, versatile entertainer, stretching the strings around everything from show tunes to country, from hip hop to tarantellas.
Choreograph the performer into an event to add drama, ambience and pure entertainment. A true showman, he can hold the spotlight alone (in or out of themed costuming), work with accompaniment or simply stand on the sidelines and let the sounds of his violin fill a venue with energy and passion.

Let There Be Ice
While winter seems to have forgotten its icy trappings, Iceculture is always good for a block or two. Check out the company's ice-fusing teambuilding challenge. Teams of three to five people are set up with a box of ice pieces in various shapes and sizes and given a lesson in fusing techniques. The goal is to create a recognizable, topple-resistant structure.
Throughout the design and execution, teams test the limits of the material, balance and dimensions while finding their synergy and creativity as a working group. Host the challenge as an indoor or outdoor activity. Ice, instruction and team tool kits containing gloves, icepicks and scratchboards supplied.
